SmCo Magnet

SmCo magnets are produced of the rare earth material samarium-cobalt. SmCo block magnets are highly coercive with excellent corrosion resistance. They are commonly used at sensors or other devices where the magnet needs to operate in high temperatures.

Attributes of SmCo Magnets -

  • High resistance to demagnetization

  • High energy (magnetic strength is strong for its size)

  • Good temperature stability

  • Expensive material (cobalt is market price sensitive)

Applications of SmCo Magnets -

Computer disc drives, sensors, travelling wave tubes, linear actuators, satellite
systems, motors where temporary stability is vital.

Tolerances -

Samarium cobalt magnets do not just excel at high temperatures, they maintain their magnetic properties even at temperatures below absolute zero (- 273 C) making them popular for cryogenic application.

SmCo Disc Magnets

SmCo disc magnets are highly coercive magnets with high magnetic strength. SmCo disc magnets offers great resistance against corrosion and handles working temperatures up to 350 degrees Celcius. SmCo magnets are widely used for sensors, pumps or other devices where the magnet is required to operate at high temperatures.

Attributes of SmCo Disc Magnets -

  • SmCo magnets are axially magnetized

  • Grade Sm2Co17 is used producing the SmCo disc magnets

  • Max temperature: 350 °C

Tolerances -

SmCo ring magnets have tolerance of Ø + H: +/- 0.1 mm

SmCo Ring Magnets

These SmCo ring magnets belong to the group of particularly coercive magnets with great corrosion conditions. They are often utilized when the magnet needs to operate under high temperatures. These are with or without countersunk

Attributes of SmCo Ring Magnets -

  • SmCo magnets are axially magnetized

  • Standard quality grade RSC26H is used. Please contact us if in need of other grades

  • Can be acquired with/without countersunk holes

  • Max temperature: 350 °C

SmCo ARC Magnets

SmCo ARC  magnets are a unique shape which are designed especially for motors, generators and alternators and are commonly used for both rotors and stators. They are also used in magnetic flywheel assemblies. SmCo ARC Magnets are perfect for high temperature applications, as they can work properly at 250-300 C.
